ITALY HAS DROPPED TO 86th<\/sup> position in Economic Freedom Index.<\/span><\/h1>\n

Canada, my native country, is in the top five of economically free countries, according to a new Fraser Institute report which was released today.<\/span><\/p>\n

The annual Economic Freedom of the World report, released today by the public policy research group, compares the level of economic freedom in 159 countries and territories based on size of government, taxation, rule of law, property rights, regulation and other factors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Canada moved from ninth place to fifth place.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hong Kong and Singapore, once again, occupy the top two positions in the report, followed by New Zealand and Switzerland. The United States ranked 16th<\/sup> for the second year in a row.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2013, Italy was ranked 68, below Kenya and Botswana.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year Italy, my adopted country, has dropped to 86th<\/sup> position.<\/span><\/p>\n
