Torrieri<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080\">English<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Training<\/span> News<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">After the sixth consecutive quarter with many traditional restaurants dipping in the red, many long-established eateries are questioning the cause of the crisis. While Chinese, Indian and Italian seem to be the most troubled, new dishes and types of cuisine are springing up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2855\" src=\"https:\/\/www.englishtraining.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/hummus-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\"><\/p>\n<p>Hummus is a Levantine dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas or other beans, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and garlic. It is popular in the Middle East and Mediterranean, as well as in Middle Eastern cuisine around the globe.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">&#8220;The rapid growth of restaurants specializing in certain types of cuisines highlights how new dishes can quickly meet the rapidly changing tastes of British diners,&#8221; said Graeme Smith, managing director of AlixPartners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The latest statistics show an upturn for Middle Eastern and Caribbean cuisine as well as an expansion of vegetarian and vegan restaurants.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Data<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The number of traditional restaurants in the UK has fallen 3.4 % this year with a net of 18 closures per week. This is the sixth negative figure reported in the quarterly surveys by the consulting companies CGA and AlixPartners. Although it should be noted that the data does not take into account takeaway catering.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>A change of taste<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The success of meatless diets has led to a 69% increase in vegetarian restaurants, while Turkish and Middle Eastern restaurants have recorded increases of over 60%.
